Protocol Steps

Tank setup
Fill spherical tank with water to 45 cm depth at 23±1°C, add brown dye, divide into 4 quadrants with hidden platform in quadrant 3

Place navigation phase (Day 1)
Each rat undergoes 4 trials starting from different quadrants in clockwise sequence, platform position fixed in target quadrant

Trial termination criteria
Each trial ends when rat reaches platform or after 60 seconds; if not found, guide rat to platform for 5-10 seconds
