The HAMC-KAFAK/BDNF hydrogel promotes functional recovery of rats with spinal cord injury by regulating inflammatory cytokine levels and improving axonal regeneration.
Objective: Development of a traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) model in rats using an aneurysm clip at the T10 vertebral level, with evaluation of hydrogel treatment effects
This is a Spinal Cord Injury Model protocol using rat as the model organism. The procedure involves 8 procedural steps, 4 equipment items, 3 materials. Extracted from a 2019 paper published in International Journal of Nanomedicine.

Randomize all 72 adult female Sprague Dawley rats into 4 experimental groups
Note: Groups: sham (n=18), SCI (n=18), HAMC (n=18), and HAMC-KAFAK/BDNF (n=18)
“All 72 rats were randomized to 4 groups: sham, SCI, HAMC, and HAMC-KAFAK/BDNF (n=18)”
Anesthetize rats with nitrous oxide/oxygen mixture containing isoflurane delivered via nose cone
Note: Gas mixture composition: 70% nitrous oxide, 30% oxygen, 1.4% isoflurane
“anesthetized with a nitrous oxide/oxygen mixture (70%/30%) containing 1.4% isoflurane delivered by nose cone”
Perform laminectomy at the T10 vertebral level to expose the spinal cord
“A laminectomy was performed at the T10 vertebral level to expose the spinal cord”
Apply aneurysm clip with 25 g force to the exposed spinal cord for 1 minute to create traumatic SCI
Note: This step is performed for SCI, HAMC, and HAMC-KAFAK/BDNF groups only; sham group receives laminectomy without SCI
“an aneurysm clip with a force of 25 × g was used for 1 minute to develop an SCI model”
Wait 5 minutes after SCI induction, then insert Hamilton syringe into center of traumatic area and manually inject 10 µL of HAMC-KAFAK/BDNF or HAMC hydrogel
Note: Performed for HAMC and HAMC-KAFAK/BDNF groups only
“A HAMC-KAFAK/BDNF or HAMC hydrogel injection was administered after 5 minutes of SCI. A Hamilton syringe was inserted into the center of the traumatic area and 10 µL of the HAMC-KAFAK/BDNF or HAMC hydrogel was injected manually”
Close muscle and skin of surgical wound following hydrogel injection or SCI induction
“Following implantation, the muscle and skin of the surgical wound were closed”
Place rats on warming pads until complete recovery from anesthesia
“The rats were then placed on warming pads until they completely recovered from anesthesia”
Provide daily care including manual bladder emptying by compression and massage
Note: Continue throughout recovery period
“Daily care of the animals included emptying of the bladder by manual compression and massage”
This section explains what the experiment is doing, which readouts matter, what the data artifacts usually look like, and how the analysis should flow from raw capture to reported result.

What this means
The completeness score reflects how much structured protocol data is present: steps, methods evidence, listed materials, linked products, and paper provenance.
Computed from the current experiment record updated Mar 14, 2026.
Canonical Sync shows whether a ConductGraph-backed protocol is available for this experiment route right now. It is a sync-status signal, not a claim that every downstream vendor link or step detail is perfect.

What this score means
The verification score reflects evidence coverage, subject detail, paper provenance, step depth, and whether linked products resolve to specific item pages instead of generic searches.
Computed from the current experiment record updated Mar 14, 2026.
A page can have structured steps and still need review when evidence is thin, product links are generic, or canonical protocol coverage is still pending.
