Behavioral Testing
Objective: Behavioral testing of wild type and heterozygous Fus mutant mice to assess behavioral phenotypes
This is a Behavioral Testing protocol using mouse as the model organism. The procedure involves 3 procedural steps, 2 materials. Extracted from a 2017 paper published in Acta Neuropathologica.
Model and subjects
mouse • C57BL/6 • male • 10-22 months
Study window
Estimated timing pending
Core workflow
Animal housing and maintenance • Genotyping • Behavioral testing
Primary readouts
- Behavioral phenotypes of wild type and heterozygous Fus mutant mice
Key equipment and reagents
Use this page as an execution guide, then fall back to the source paper whenever you need exact exclusions, dosing details, or assay-specific caveats.
Confirm first
- Verify the animal model, intervention setup, and collection timepoints against the source paper.
- Check that every direct vendor link matches the exact specification your lab plans to run.
Use the page like this
- Work through the protocol steps in order and use the inline vendor chips only when you need to source or verify an item.
- Jump to Experimental Context for readouts, data shape, and analysis flow before planning downstream analysis.

Animal housing and maintenance
Mice were housed in the central animal facility with a regular 12-hour light and dark cycle (light on at 7:00 am) under constant temperature and humidity conditions
Note: Humidity maintained at 60%. Standard laboratory rodent food and water available ad libitum

Genotyping
Mice were genotyped by PCR of genomic DNA from tail biopsies
Note: Genotyping method described previously in reference 68

“Mice were genotyped by PCR of genomic DNA from tail biopsies as described previously”
Behavioral testing
Behavioral tests were conducted on 10- to 22-month-old male littermates of each genotype (Fus+/+, FusΔNLS/+, and Fus+/-) on a pure genetic background (C57BL/6)
Note: Tests conducted during the light phase of the light/dark cycle
