Three Chamber Sociability Task
Objective: Measures social motivation including sociability and social novelty in mice
This is a Three Chamber Sociability Task protocol using mouse as the model organism. The procedure involves 2 procedural steps, 1 equipment items. Extracted from a 2026 paper published in Psychopharmacology (Berl).

Confirm first
- Verify the animal model, intervention setup, and collection timepoints against the source paper.
- Check that every direct vendor link matches the exact specification your lab plans to run.
Use the page like this
- Work through the protocol steps in order and use the inline vendor chips only when you need to source or verify an item.
- Jump to Experimental Context for readouts, data shape, and analysis flow before planning downstream analysis.

Subject preparation
Use offspring from dams that consumed THC during pregnancy and lactation, and were exposed to chronic mild unpredictable stress during adolescence
Note: Testing begins at PD58
View evidence from paper
“Mouse dams orally consumed 5 mg/kg THC in whole cannabis oil daily from GD1-PD10. Offspring were exposed to chronic mild unpredictable stress throughout adolescence (PD28-56). From PD58, mice were challenged with a battery of tests”
Conduct 3 chamber sociability and social novelty task
Perform the 3 chamber sociability and social novelty task as part of behavioral test battery
Note: Part of battery including anxiety-like, stress coping, anhedonia-like, and risk-taking behavior tests
